Description:
This article sets out the results of the study in families where children from three to seven years old are brought up. The study concerns the cognitive development of young children in various conditions of social adaptation. It was determined that social adaptation is more successful when the relationship between parents is based on democratic principles, enough attention is paid to children, and issues of psychological and pedagogical content are jointly addressed. However, the social adaptation of children is also influenced by living conditions, the number of family members, the number of generations living in the family, the standard of living, place of residence (level of well-being), and parental education. It is important that there are still children in the family, including those with problems in physical and mental development, the seniority of children, and the influence of the older generation (grandparents). It was determined that social adaptation in the vast majority of cases is more successful in wealthy families. At the same time, it is impossible to determine unequivocally that the cognitive development and maturation of children in dysfunctional families is necessarily lagging. Sometimes the "survival" of thinking and its maturation successfully passes in extreme situations.
